Where does the M61 join the M6?
The M61 is a relatively short stretch of motorway, in the north west of England. It spans for around 22 miles in length, starting in Worsley, which is located in the Salford area of Greater Manchester, and joins in with the M6 just to the south of Preston.
Why is there no junction 7 on M61?
The missing junction 7 is something of a mystery. Considering that an extended M58 was meant to terminate on the M61, and an underpass even exists to enable that to happen, the missing junction has nothing to do with that plan and is much too far north to be related to the long-dead M58 proposals.
